Our Full Story

Unboxed Grief was born from a deeply personal experience of loss and the realization that many around me sought not just comfort, but guidance. During a particularly challenging season, I noticed that people in my life turned to me for advice on how to support loved ones who were mourning. It reached a point where I was receiving unsolicited referrals, becoming a go-to source for navigating the complexities of grief.

Grief is uncomfortable and unnerving. It’s often ignored or masked under the guise of not wanting to “upset” those who are grieving. Yet, grievers themselves often struggle with how to grieve. It’s a foreign entity, unfamiliar and overwhelming.

I felt a responsibility to illuminate the need for courage in showing up—for oneself and for others—through the journey of bereavement. "To whom much is given, much is required" is a mantra I have always lived by, and it is at the core of Unboxed Grief. Inspired by Ram Dass's words, “We’re all just walking each other home,” I saw the necessity of creating a space that encourages this compassionate presence.

Unboxed Grief.com is my “love letter” to all who have loved and lost. Where there is great pain, there is deep love. Our deceased loved ones are never truly gone; everything they shared and gave to us remains. As Ashley Davis Bush writes in "Transcending Loss," “Death does not end a relationship. It merely changes it.” This belief is the foundation of Unboxed Grief.

Our mission is to provide products and services that offer comfort, healing, and the freedom to grieve in your own way, free from the expectations of others or even yourself. Be kind, gentle, and compassionate with yourself as you navigate this new way of being without your loved one physically by your side.

We at Unboxed Grief are here for you, rooting for you every step of the way.
